Organic Gripe Water

ChildLife® Clinicals Organic Gripe Water is a liquid dietary supplement that combines key herbal ingredients with fiber-rich Kiwifruit Extract into a unique blend that may provide a child with soothing relief from stomach discomfort.

Variations of homemade gripe water have been used for generations as a remedy for the stomach discomfort that is often prevalent in young babies and infants.1

Organic Ginger Root

Use of ginger in herbal medicine dates back over 2000 years.2 Ginger has been shown to increase the rate of gastric emptying and gastrointestinal motility3,4, reduction of severity of nausea and vomiting in patients experiencing these symptoms due to pregnancy or chemotherapy.5

Organic Dill Essential Oil

Dill is used for dyspepsia and as a general antispasmodic.6 In addition, Dill is widely known as a remedy for colic7, and relief from excess buildup of gas.7,8

Organic Kiwifruit Extract

Kiwifruit Extract contains a naturally high non-starch polysaccharide content and both soluble and insoluble fiber components, in addition to various enzymes including Actinidin. This makes Kiwifruit an ideal prebiotic which helps to maintain bowel regularity and the natural ecology of bacteria in a child’s digestive tract.9 The Kiwifruit Extract used in ChildLife® Clinicals Organic Gripe Water is organically grown in, and sustainably sourced from, New Zealand.

Organic Fennel Seed Essential Oil

As with the above ingredients, Fennel has a long history of use in traditional medicine for a wide range of ailments, including digestive. Fennel seed is a commonly used botanical by nursing mothers, and is also frequently given to colicky infants for use as an antispasmodic and antiflatulant.10,11
